Ka ʻIke Mau Loa O Ke Kai Hohonu: Wa'a Pe'a
Ocean immersion through cultural use of sailing canoes
Wa`a Pe`a by Ka ʻIke Mau Loa O Ke Kai Hohonu, in parnership with Kailua Ocean Adevntures, is a 5-day ocean immersion program mentoring Keiki using Hawaiian Values and Knowledge through our Waʻa Peʻa program.
Keiki will learn the mana’o (knowledge) of the canoe, ocean and self. They will be guided and given first hand experience in paddling and sailing canoes through our coaches and canoe captains. They will also gain an understanding of their kuleana (responsibility) to Hawaii at the individual, familial, community and world level.
To ensure safety is a first priority, all participants are required to be confident, independent swimmers. If they are not, please contact us.
